As soon as Karen began her first day of cosmetology school, she knew she had made the right decision to become a hairdresser. She always wanted to make a difference in the way people looked and felt about themselves. Karen loves to attend different classes every year to keep up on the current trends and styles. She always says, “Enjoying what you do is key in this ever changing industry”. That was a decision she had made over 20 years ago and she has never doubted it since.

Andrea has always had a passion for hair, makeup and fashion. As a client at Atelier Salon, and an indecisive college student, it was at the advice of Ricky Pennisi himself that she started attending beauty school. Now, after over 4 years of working in the ever changing and growing beauty industry, Andrea is excited to be able to express her creativity in many different ways. The most rewarding part of her career comes from working with clients and watching them leave with smiles on their faces.
Melanie feels extremely grateful to come to work, meet amazing clients and make them look and feel beautiful, all while doing something that she loves. She had always thought that there was something so glamorous about being a Stylist and that has inspired her over the past five years to stay current with the latest fashion trends and techniques. Outside of the salon, she enjoys shopping, spending time with her family and watching Reality T.V.! (There’s nothing better than a “Real Housewives” blowout!)
“When I was little people used to think I was crazy because I used to cut all the hair off of my dolls. Who would have thought you could turn this into a career?”
Sheryl has known she wanted to do hair since she was seventeen years old. However, she put that on hold to attend college. After earning her degree in Early Education, she knew she still had a passion for hair so she began to pursue a career in the industry. At Ricky’s request, she came to Atelier and began to work for him. Although Sheryl has many talents, she finds doing blowouts and applying extensions for her clients to be the most enjoyable. Her motto has always been “When you do what you love, you love what you do!” and she continues to stand by that.
Kelly comes from a family of artists and was constantly exposed to creativity from a very young age. From watching her dad paint and sculpt to admiring her mom apply makeup every morning, she developed a natural creative edge. She always knew that she wanted a career in which she could put her creativity to use regularly. When she discovered the beauty industry, she also discovered a new passion. She considers herself very lucky to be able to use her artistic way of thinking to make others feel amazing about themselves. She is always on top of new hair and makeup trends and techniques to keep her clients trendy and modern. Her passion for the industry is reflected in every client that sits in her chair.
Gloria has been in the beauty industry for over three years and could never imagine doing anything else! Being a Stylist not only allows her to express her creativity but also gives her the opportunity to bond with her clients as if they were a friend sitting in her chair, letting her play with their hair! Color is Gloria’s specialty but blowouts and styling are her favorite! At the end of the day, having made her clients feel beautiful is what fulfills and drives her. “You know you love doing hair when going to work doesn’t feel like a job.”
